Drake Says He's 'Self-Conscious About My Music' During 2021 BBMAs Artist of the Decade Speech

Drake took the stage alongside his three-year-old son, Adonis, while accepting his Artist of the Decade Award during Sunday night’s Billboard Music Awards (May 23).

"I'm really self-conscious about my music, and even if I do a good job, I always wonder how I could have done it better," Drake said. "I rarely ever celebrate anything. And just for anyone watching this wondering how this happened, that's really the answer -- it's being so unsure how you're getting it done that you just kinda keep going in the hopes of figuring out the formula.”

The “6 God” continued saying, "I know I've spent an incalculable amount of hours trying to analyze all the things that I've did wrong, but tonight for once, I'm sure as hell we did something right."

It’s only right for Drake to take top honors for the 2010s charts; he has had over 232 chart entries over the past decade. Drake hit the Billboard 200 in 2010 with his debut album, Thank Me Later. He’s had nine number ones from 2010-2019 and he’s the only artist to hold the first, second, and third position on the Hot 100 with “What’s Next,” “Wants and Needs,” and “Lemon Pepper Freestyle” featuring Rick Ross.
